2022 Range Rover features two new turbo engines
Luxury, elegance and performance come at a price
However, the elephant price in the room. Any Range Rover modification is not cheap. It starts at around $94,000 and with a bunch of added options it can go up to over $215,000.
The first generation Land Rover Range Rovers didn’t start out as luxury models. It was introduced in 1970 and the brand has lasted for 16 years. Gradually, the Range Rover has become more sophisticated than the original models.
The modern full-size SUV has finally become the luxury car of the genre. Its appeal grew in stature and it eventually became the popular ride among the Hollywood crowd.
One can easily see why. Modern Range Rovers are truly luxurious, have plenty of technology, offer good comfort and excellent performance, but they retain their initial appeal as a rugged SUV that can go anywhere. Contest included BMW X7And the Mercedes-Benz GLE And the Cayenne Porsche.
The Range Rover arrived this year as a new, fifth generation in a shortened lineup. There is no longer a diesel in the US lineup, but there is a new V8. Also new this year is an optional third row of seats. Range Rover has three trim levels (SE, Autobiography, First Edition).
What hasn’t changed is that the Range Rover retains its off-road chops. Each Range Rover model is equipped with all-wheel drive and Land Rover’s signature off-road capability. In the low range it can run over sand dunes, through deep mud or snow, and travel over rocks.
Large SUV, the Range Rover is available in two body style configurations – Short Wheelbase (SWB) and Long Wheelbase (LWB). Five passengers are standard, but the LWB offers a third row that increases capacity from five to seven passengers.
There are two turbocharged engine options this year. The standard engine is a turbocharged 3.0-liter, six-cylinder that makes 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It travels from 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds and gets 18-26 mpg. The upgraded engine is a 4.4-liter turbocharged, V8 that makes 523 horsepower. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, which is pretty impressive for an SUV that weighs nearly 6,000 pounds. Gas mileage is lower (16-21 mpg) than the standard model.
While some auto experts find the Range Rover’s ride quality suspect—”handling and heavy steering”—that wasn’t the case here. For such a large vehicle, the Range Rover offers a refined and comfortable ride. It provides solid grip on tough trails and cruises along effortlessly. We found it nimble for a large SUV.
Standard advanced driver safety features include lane departure warning with lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control.

Inside the Range Rover
There is a lot to admire about the Range Rover’s interior. Among the standard features are a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, wood trim, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration (with wireless connectivity) and a wireless charging pad.
While the new 13.1-inch curved touchscreen looks great and has great graphics, it’s also mystifying. Something that should be as simple as climate control is confusing and requires the use of multiple levels of touchscreen. It’s also annoying that voice commands are often not recognized.
The seats are spacious even for taller people in the first two rows of the SUV. But like many third-rowers, the Range Rover is more child-friendly. And adding a third row reduces cargo space to 8.7 cubic feet, much less than its competitors.
If the price is not compensated, in 2022 Land Rover Range Rover It is a large, upscale luxury SUV that is well worth buying. It offers a refined ride, good performance, and stylish interior and exterior design.
