Biden’s Covid symptoms improve but fatigue, congestion remain, doctor says
Washington – President Joe Biden Corona virus disease symptoms He improved after completing the first full day of his treatment with the antiviral drug Baxolvid despite continuing to have a runny nose, fatigue and a “soft” cough, his doctor said Friday in message.
White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor said Biden’s temperature reached 99.4 degrees Thursday night, but that the temperature has dropped since taking Tylenol. Biden’s pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation “remain perfectly normal in room air,” he wrote.
O’Connor said he still expects Biden to respond positively to a course of treatment after the president tested positive for Covid Thursday morning. The White House said it will continue to provide daily updates on his condition.
“As I mentioned earlier, the President has been fully vaccinated and boosted twice, so I expect he will respond favorably, as do most of the most highly protected patients,” O’Connor wrote. “There has been nothing in the course of the disease so far that gives me reason to change that initial prediction.”
O’Connor said Biden has stopped taking the cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor and the blood thinner Eliquis as a precaution while taking baxlovid, and Biden is taking low-dose aspirin as a blood thinner.
The White House said Biden had several virtual meetings scheduled for Friday, including his daily intelligence briefing, a meeting with this economic team to discuss gas prices, and a meeting with senior staff to discuss his legislative agenda.
The White House tweeted a photo of Biden working in an office on a phone Friday morning, hooded and in a collared coat and shirt.
Her spokesman, Michael LaRosa, said First Lady Jill Biden did not have any symptoms and spent Thursday night at the couple’s home in Wilmington, Delaware.
