Facebook expands its professional mode profile setting to all creators globally • TechCrunch


Meta has Announcing global expansion From setting up a professional Facebook profile for all creators. Pro mode is designed to be used by content creators looking to monetize their social network followers. Facebook Test started Pro mode with select creators in December 2021 and is now showing it to anyone on their platform.

Pro mode is somewhat similar to Pages in that it gives creators a separate profile to build their presence on the social network. in blog post, Facebook said it sees Pro mode as a way to “build a public following, earn money from various monetization programs, and connect with your audience in more meaningful ways.”

Setting up a creator’s profile gives creators access to monetization features and analytics tools, like Facebook’s Reels Play rewards program, which allows you to earn money for the Reels you share. Pro mode also gives eligible content creators access to Stars, allowing you to earn money directly from followers on Reels, live streaming and video-on-demand.

In-stream ads will also be released to eligible Pro mode creators, giving them the opportunity to earn money by enabling ads before, during, or after long on-demand videos on Facebook. The company is also testing ads on Facebook Reels in Pro mode with a select group of creators around the world. The company says the ad format integrates with the reels by placing ads on reels or between recurring reels.

Creators in Pro mode also get access to subscriptions, which gives them the option to share subscribers-only content on the social network. The subscriptions have not yet been fully released and are still in the testing phase.

“Professional mode allows you to build a global audience of followers, while keeping in touch with friends and family from your Facebook profile,” the company said in the blog post. “While posting public content, you will have access to features designed to help you gain and engage with new followers that were previously only available on Pages.”

The expansion comes at a time when Meta is investing in its creator user base, seeing the potential for a new revenue stream to come from things like creator subscriptions. As Meta continues to build the metaverse, it will need to support creators, so it’s no surprise that it’s looking to expand its offering to creators.
