Florida: Bay Pines VA Updates Masking Requirements at All Facilities
Starting March 1, all Bay Pines VA Healthcare System facilities will only require masks in buildings where health care is administered. This decision was made after reviewing current national and local epidemiological data which reflect a sustained decrease in positive cases of COVID-19. Please note that these masking requirements remain based on levels of community transmission provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“The wellbeing of our veterans and employees remains at the forefront of the decisions we make,” said Paul M. Russo, Director/CEO of Bay Pines VA. “Data provided by the CDC indicates a steady decline in levels of community transmission and I am confident this change in masking requirements will not negatively impact the health of those we serve.”
Bay Pines VA will ensure signage (included below) that clearly states the applicable mask wearing requirements at that location and is posted at our facilities. In addition, we will continue to provide mask stations at all entrances and clinical areas. Veterans with symptoms of COVID-19 may apply to any of our facilities for availability and do not require an appointment. We continue to offer COVID-19 and flu vaccines.
