Jane Technologies launches its first iOS app for cannabis shopping • TechCrunch
Jane Technologies The impressive cannabis market is finally available on the app. The company today launched its first iOS app that allows users to browse the inventory of local cannabis dispensaries and make in-app purchases.
Its web market is beautiful, and I’ve found it to be amazingly accurate, thanks to the live inventory information. I am delighted that the company is bringing the power of its web marketplace to a smartphone app. Users can shop from local retailers by stores, products or categories and browse with confidence, knowing that the inventory listed is accurate.
There are many ways to buy weed through a smartphone. Weed, Leafy, and Eaze maps are among the most popular. When asked what makes Jane’s app different, CEO and founder Socrates Rosenfeld told TechCrunch it’s all about the data.
“We’ve been a boring company for a while, focused on developing proprietary technology. We now have a lot of IP addresses that can clean up and identify a single SKU in real time. So to put that into perspective, we’ve seen many tech providers struggle to find a specific SKU. on the store shelf in real time.”
Since its founding in 2015, Jane has been dedicated to helping dispensaries provide accurate e-commerce information to consumers. On the dispensary side, Jane’s Producer cleans and standardizes SKUs, ensuring that products have standardized metadata. Consumers and retailers benefit from this reliable source of data. Without this data set, Jane would not have been able to design the application.
CEO Rosenfeld said, “Now we have the foundation on which we can now lay in the market, offering a shopping experience that we believe is a shopping experience of how people will shop for cannabis for generations to come as it replicates other CPG segments like Amazon and Drizzly.”
Gene Technologies was founded in 2015 by Socrates Rosenfeld and is headquartered in Sockwell, California. The company raised $127 million over three rounds of fundraising.
