Marjorie Taylor Greene’s husband of 27 years files for divorce, says marriage is ‘irretrievably broken’

Husband Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, Republic of-GA.Divorce filing Wednesday morning in Georgia court.

In court documents obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, Perry Greene is reported to have stated that his 27-year marriage with Representative Greene was “irreversibly broken.” The couple married in August 1995 and share three adult children together.

A petition has also been filed to close the lawsuit, citing “confidential and sensitive information,” FOX 5 reported. The petition argues that “the parties’ significant privacy interest in closing records outweighs the public’s scant interest in accessing said records.”

A hearing on that movement has not yet been set.

Representative Green issued the following statement to Fox News Digital Wednesday night:

“Marriage is a wonderful thing and I am a big believer in it. Our society consists of husband and wife to form a family to nurture and protect. Together, Berry and I formed our family and raised three great children. He gave me the best job title you could ever earn: Mom. I will always be grateful for how amazing he is as a dad.” For our children. This is a private and personal matter and I ask the media to respect our privacy at this time.”

The congressman’s team also issued a statement on behalf of her estranged husband:

“Marjorie has been my best friend for 29 years and has been a wonderful mom! Our family is the most important thing we have done. As we go down different paths, we will continue to focus on our three wonderful children, their future endeavors and our friendship.”
