Philadelphia Phillies head to the World Series with ‘Dancing on My Own’ as their victory anthem
What do “we are the champions”, “all I do is win”, “don’t stop believing” and “dance on my own” have in common? Apparently, they are all Nasr songs, According to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Phillies went viral on social media for releasing a version of “Dancing on My Own” in the locker room after big wins. The song somewhat became the team’s anthem.
“There isn’t any deeper meaning or backstory to it, other than that it’s absolutely touching and we love singing it in the locker room,” Phyllis Katcher Garrett Stubbs told MLB.com.
“After winning, we play ‘Dancing on My Own’ and ‘Cold Heart’ and a couple of other songs. We’ve been playing these songs since the beginning of the season. They come in order after wins, so everyone knows what songs are going to be played and everyone knows the lyrics to those songs.”
The Feliz were not the first to use the song as a victory anthem. In fact, the Boston Red Sox They were the first to use the song in 2021.
“Dancing on My Own,” now played from Phillies’ locker room to Rittenhouse Square, was originally sung by Robyn, but the song has been covered by several other artists over the years, and the version played by Phillies is a rendition of Callum Scott and Teosto .
“Dancing on My Own” has penetrated the Phillies all the way to world championship 2022, Where they will play the Houston Astros.
