The Virtual holiday game enginenow in its fourth year, is a fundraising event in place of the traditional hospital gift drive and drop off.
“Donors can help children from the comfort of home by either shopping for a specific item on our wish list or contributing toward gifts,” said Diana Sundberg, director of Child Life Therapy and Creative Arts at the University of California, Davis.
The money raised will provide gifts for pediatric patients UC Davis Children’s Hospitaland the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center UC Davis MIND Institute this holiday season. Additional funds raised will enable the Department of Child Life Therapy and Creative Arts to provide toys and games year-round to stock hospital playrooms, and for patients’ birthdays, celebrations, and other milestones.
“With generous donations from the community, we’ve been able to bring the magic of the holidays to the hospital and support families through trying times,” said Sundberg. “Being able to give these gifts is a testament to our community and we couldn’t be more grateful. We invite everyone to join us in making the holidays even brighter for our patients and families.”
