On September 25, 2022, the patient obtained an initial positive result for monkeypox and was transferred to the Tropical Disease Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for further isolation, treatment and genetic sequencing in the hospital. Immediately after receiving information that the patient was suspected of having monkeypox, the Ministry of Health asked the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to direct specialized agencies to further strengthen the implementation of disease prevention and control measures, urgently conduct genetic sequencing tests and continue epidemiology. Investigate and treat outbreaks, isolate and treat patients according to the professional directions of the Ministry of Health. At the same time, the Ministry of Health has asked the people’s committees in the provinces and cities to be on duty and to strengthen the implementation of measures to prevent and control the monkeypox epidemic.
