Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee instructed the Ministry of Health to direct the health agency to coordinate with the veterinary agency to promptly report when discovering or receiving information about cases of people infected with rabies by dogs or cats or suspected rabies bite.

Promote human rabies surveillance with community participation in the “One Health” direction, in close coordination between the two veterinary health sectors, and ensure compliance with legal regulations. the law.

In addition, ensuring access to human rabies vaccines, publishing the addresses of rabies vaccination points and informing instructions to guide people bitten by dogs and cats to medical facilities for timely preventive treatment. time.

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee also asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to direct the Sub-Department of Animal Production and Veterinary Medicine to coordinate with local authorities to continue to review and count the herd of dogs and cats twice a year for their management. In particular, to carry out annual rabies vaccination of dogs and cats, focusing on vaccination in March and April and regular additional vaccinations according to the age of dogs and cats in the city according to the regulations.
